ETHAN: A STORY OF TRANSFORMATION…
Meet Ethan, age 3, who started as a new student at the Center earlier this year. He lives with his mother and a sister; his father emigrated to the United States to give them a better life. Ethan is the brother of Aliz, who attended the Center before going to primary school.
At the beginning of the school year, Ethan spent his first few days crying. He had difficulty communicating with teachers and students, he wore a diaper and he was remarkably underweight. After six months attending the Center five days a week, Ethan has made a huge leap in growth and independence. He adapted to the daily routines, he more easily communicates with staff and peers, and consistently uses the toilet instead of wearing a diaper. He has also gained weight, enjoying the 2 meals and 2 snacks provided everyday, sometimes asking for second or third servings of fruit.
Beyond his physical and developmental advancements, Ethan is visibly happier and more confident at the Center each day. He enjoys being in the different play areas, especially the playground where he plays inside the ball pool, the puppet play area where he enjoys all aspects of storytelling and puppetry, and the art area where he enjoys watercolor painting and paper crafts.
Ethan’s mother has noticed his physical, mental and psychomotor development at home, too. She is so grateful for the caring environment and nutritious meals (with second helpings!) he receives at the Center. Your ongoing generosity is essential to keeping our mission afloat, and knowing that we can expect your donation every month allows us to plan confidently. From extra servings of fruit to art supplies, your commitment helps our little learners get a better start despite their economic and family difficulties. Thank you!
