GRADUATION AND GOODBYES

For over years the Center brought so much joy and comfort to young children and their families who needed it most.  As we celebrated the Class of 2026 with music, dancing and awards we also celebrated our amazing staff and community members who made 20 years possible! From Doña Hortencia who rented us her house to use for the Center, to our loyal housekeeper Doña Lecticia who helped us keep it tidy for all 20 years, and the entire staff — both former and current — together we celebrated this milestone. The Acorn Childcare Center started as a small idea and grew into a network of support for families facing extreme poverty, nurturing young lives, empowering caregivers, and strengthening the community for two decades. Alumni and their families came out to share their stories and appreciation from last year’s young graduates to those who are now entering adulthood and many in between.

Thanks to your support, encouragement and generosity, we’ve been able to offer real help to families for two decades.  Your generosity and belief in our mission enabled us to turn love into action and hope into reality. Thank-you for 20 amazing years.
