Daniel: A story of caring…

Meet 5 1/2 year old Daniel, another graduate of the Acorn Childcare Center this month!

Daniel started attending the Center when he was 3 1/2 years old. Daniel’s mom, Doña Brenda, is a single mom with two older children who were both at the Center when they were young.

Despite their economic challenges, Daniel‘s family is very close. He lives with his mother and two older siblings in a single room in a house shared with other families. When Daniel was barely two years old his father was killed by gangs.

Since coming to the Center, Daniel has become affectionate and expressive with many friends. The Center’s caring environment has made a big impact on him: he often talks about his father’s death with teachers and friends here.

Daniel has made great progress in all areas of his development. He especially enjoys learning about the universe, dinosaurs, and plants and dressing up in costumes.

Because of your generosity, Daniel has found a caring place to learn, grow and grieve. He is ready to start primary school and take this next big step. Thank you!

EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS

Every donation helps ensure that we can continue transforming the lives of families facing extreme poverty.

Maya Childcare Inc is run entirely by volunteers, thus 100% of your donation goes directly to the Acorn Childcare Center.

The fact that the Acorn Childcare Centre is able to offer such crucial, life-changing support to children and families living in extreme poverty, is thanks to the work and the generosity of many people, doing and giving what they can to help. Every contribution matters, and together all these efforts make a huge difference.
