The government organization that oversees preschools and childcare centers visited The Acorn Childcare Center and we have been given the green light to open for in-person learning! For the past few weeks our students have been visiting in small groups for a day, to get used to the Center and learn the daily routine.

The students are now able to attend in-person 4 days a week (with 1 day for cleaning and sterilization). Our staff are overjoyed as we also welcomed back our cook, Doña Moni, and custodian, Doña Leti, and opened our doors to the Class of 2022 together for the first time. We also hosted our first in-person parent meeting this week and everyone shared how relieved and happy they and the children are to be able to get together. Just look as these happy faces!

Thank you for your continued commitment and faith in our work in Quetzaltenango. Your generous contributions throughout the year give these young children a better start.

Every donation helps ensure that we can continue transforming the lives of families facing extreme poverty.

Maya Childcare Inc is run entirely by volunteers, thus 100% of your donation goes directly to the Acorn Childcare Center.

The fact that the Acorn Childcare Centre is able to offer such crucial, life-changing support to children and families living in extreme poverty, is thanks to the work and the generosity of many people, doing and giving what they can to help. Every contribution matters, and together all these efforts make a huge difference.
